Discover how you can volunteer and help out through all kinds of opportunities like meals, mentoring, sorting donations, maintenance, tutoring, computer literacy, transportation, office help, bring fun activities for everyone to enjoy and more.
I want to serve at Camp Hope. How do I get started?
1. First time volunteer form
We are so glad you want to join us!
Because we value relationship, we want to get to know you and give you the chance to get to know us.
Fill out our volunteer application: you can get one from our staff at 2300 E Birch St, Yakima, WA 98901 or fill out our form.

2. Background Check
Along with your application, you'll be asked to consent to a background check by Grace City Outreach. This will need to be approved prior to volunteering.
Once your background check has been cleared, we will welcome you to the team and get you scheduled to serve!

What kind of volunteer opportunities are there?
Feed Camp Hope
There are lots of ways to help feed our residents.
*Volunteer Orientation is not required for food service.

Mentoring
Partner with our case managers to build a friendship with a resident and help keep them accountable to their action plan and goals - be a mentor.

Sorting Donations
Sort, organize, and manage incoming donations of food, clothing and hygiene products.

Maintenance
Help with minor repairs or fix-it projects.

Tutoring Adults
Join our education team and tutor adults in:
- GED prep,
- basic reading/writing/math,
- financial management,
- resume and job interview skills.

Tutoring Kids
Join our education team and teach kids basic reading, writing, and math so they thrive in school.

Computer Literacy
Help our residents with computer literacy and technical assistance.

Activities
Bring some fun into the building with sports, arts and crafts, games, or scheduled (pre-approved) outings.

Transportation
Drive residents to the downtown bus terminal in one of our Camp Hope vehicles. (requires additional training and approval)
