KIMA | Camp Hope rushes to bring as many homeless people inside as possible

“The folks at Yakima’s Camp Hope are working to make sure no one is left out in the bitter cold.

They’ve brought in almost 30 homeless people off the streets and into shelter this weekend.

For people who don’t have a home, this kind of cold can be deadly. Back in October, a homeless woman died from the cold in Yakima.

“When somebody dies out there, it means we didn’t do enough to try to get them in, or we didn’t develop the right resource, and for us that’s something, that as providers, we’re working very, very hard to try and fix,” says Mike Kay, Camp Hope’s director.”
